DO YOUR RESEARCH TEACHER!!!!!! While it is unlikely it is still distinctly possible for radiation to damage to both strands (of a double helix) of DNA in the same section causing the repairs to that DNA to come out different from the original strand (a mutation). Mutations like this usually cause the death of that strand of DNA BUT it is not unheard of for the damaged DNA to replicate and cause physical/physiological changes (see nuclear bombing survivors).
