Actually, for question number 2 the answer should be zero: you can't form any 7-letter word from the letters that make up the word "tangent" without repeating letters, because only the 5 letters T,A,N,G,E form that word!!

It's really annoying that everyone here assumes that all of the students are male. Of course, most of them probably think sexism is dead...and yet they believe that male is the default and female the other. Huh.
